To become an Amateur Extra class operator you must first take and pass both the Technician and General class liscense tests. There is no skipping or testing out” on any of these tests. You will need the knowledge and experience that you gain from the Tech and General liscenses to pass the Extra class test.

I suggest that you get the Gordon West Technician book, the Gordon West General book and his Extra Class book, too. Study them hard and then begin your testing.

To find a testing site and date in your area, log on to ARRL.ORG and follow the links to find the site and date.
