Great video – thanks for posting! My only suggestion/wish was that you included the approximate time it takes between passing the test and having ones callsign appear on the FCC url so one can start broadcasting… thanks!?

The book, the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual is now at 3rd Edition. His notes point to a 2nd Edition. They update the exam materials about every 5 years. Last update was July 2014.

Much of the material is still good, but they re-word questions and add new questions sometimes, so you're probably not totally out of luck with the 2nd Edition, but try to get
the current edition if you can.

YOU CAN ALSO DOWNLOAD THE QUESTION POOLS: The National Council for Volunteer Examiner Coordinators (NCVEC) is the group that updates the questions.
You can get the latest questions FREE from their website, but it's JUST THE QUESTIONS, there's no text or practice exams.

Check around to see if there's an AMATEUR RADIO CLUB in your area. Maybe they will have a class or provide coaches for study.

If there is no ARRL-VEC class in your area, try:

Great job explaining the requirements and what to expect, however I'm not sure the title is appropriate. Usually when you see "how to pass" what comes to mind is a test taking strategy, or sometimes even a cheat or method that will allow an easier time passing the test, and that's not what this is. Other than that, good work.?

Hi I cannot seem to find any info about if you need a license or how to get one in UK I have seen Baofeng UV-5R TP really cheap but can you use them right away??

The test is common sense stuff, it can get a bit technical, but if you study even for a day, you stand a good chance of passing. I studied for a few months and aced the sucker in 5 minutes.?
