Good stuff! In these indoor times this may be a new hobby.
I'm interested in getting my first SW radio. I'm on a limited budget (SSDI) I know I want a digital tuner that can auto scan rather than an analog dial i would need to constantly operate to tune, and I would like sideband. I would like the widest frequency range possible, but would compromise on this if price range increases dramatically for a few extra possible stations.
I live in NYC, so not sure if that will be a hindrance or benefit. Just throwing this out there if it effects what I should be looking for.
I've been a hobbyist radio scanner for many years and keep my trusty pro-95 by my side most of the time. It's not as fun as when 900 Mhz cordless phones were a thing (allegedly) but at least NYC emergency transmissions haven't switched to digital. This makes me feel like I'd enjoy the hobby but I'd like to test the waters out without breaking the bank.
If there are any recommendations you, or anyone reading this, can provide I would be forever grateful.
TIA
Hey Tom! Video just started, so can't comment on the content yet, but you have a GREAT VOICE. Very soothing. Hypnosis videos? Voiceovers?
That's a very useful video…. im new to shortwave and it was helpful….
Smooth presentation is a real strength! You have it. Thanks.
Thank you for the introduction. I just ordered a small and simple SW radio to get back into the hobby. Oh, and I love your logo of the radio dog in his spacesuit and helmet!
It's odd tho that day or night I only get channels on the lower end. Location maybe?
Thank You.
My deceased uncle in Germany was into "Funken" he would always be calling CQ. Is that ham radio? Is that the same as shortwave? I'm retired now and bored living in Manila, I'd like to learn more about these things. Thanks.
Thank you very much, I finally understand what short wave is.
Hey Tom, looks like you have re-booted the channel. Nice. LOVE the camera, LOVE the lighting – and LOVE your style. Good job friend. (PS – I spotted you subscribed to my channel!)
