I am new likely to be ham . I live at Ahmedabad . Any one pl guide me from where to start ??

Start by finding your local amateur radio club.

As you are in India the ARRL or US ham club recommendations are useless.
Join the site below , it is run by Ham radio operators in India.
They will be able to tell you who is right to get in contact with , clubs , individuals and licensing departments etc.
Go to ARRL.ORG and look for information close to your area, there are links there to a lot of radio clubs…
I have made contacts to foriegn radio clubs through the arrl with no problems, some reason they wouldn’t deal with india??
