Question by Rick: Which Ham Radio power supply should I buy?
My Ham Radio requires a 13.8 volt 20 amp power supply. Is there any advantage of buying a power supply that has say 25 or 30 amps?

yes, it would run cooler under heavy load (long TX session) or you could add more equipment to it, like antenna rotator. The voltage you mention is usually for mobile (vehicle based) equipment – so unless you regularly go mobile, I would advise a rig that runs off your local mains supply, without the serious LT PSU.

Ditto. I’ve always have liked Astron power supplies.

Rick – You should consider at least a 25 amp supply for that radio. As the other person said, the supply will run smoother and last longer and your radio will always transmit at full output.
